ROSEAU, Dominica –  An American college student was killed during a visit to the Caribbean island of Dominica when she was struck by a dive boat's propeller, police said Sunday. The fourth-year University of Virginia student has been identified as 22-year-old Casey Shulman of Falls Church, Virginia. Police Inspector Richmond Valentine said she was killed Saturday afternoon as she and more than 50 other students visited Dominica as part of the school's "Semester at Sea" program. In a statement released to students and faculty, Patricia Lampkin, University of Virginia vice president and chief student affairs officer, said Shulman's death occurred during a recreational boating trip organized independently of Semester at Sea activities. Valentine said a group of students, including Shulman, hired a boat owned by local company Anchorage Dive.

  • Aggregate Sentiment is meant to be an indicator of an individual's overall sentiment.
  • The Mean is meant to be an indicator of an individual's average comment sentiment.
  • The Standard Deviation, when there are enough quotes, will indicate an individual's consistency of sentiment (i.e. a Standard Deviation of 0 would mean they were very consistent in their sentiment and 1 would mean they were very inconsistent).

Note that quote stats are likely to be meaningless beyond the aggregate score due to the tiny sample size. However, they are always provided just in case you find something useful there.
