TUCSON, Ariz. -- Authorities state a 6-year-old boy who took a handgun to Tucson school in his knapsack has been turned over to state child welfare officials. Tucson police state the unidentified child became ill late Thursday morning and was sent to the nurse 's workplace at the Amphitheater district school. As the boy was being prepared to be sent home, a staff member found the handgun in the knapsack. School authorities called 911 and police came at the school. The Arizona Daily Star states police discovered the father had a felony warrant for a parole violation. He was apprehended Thursday night and police state charges are pending. His name hasn't been introduced yet. Investigators state the boy's mom was questioned and introduced. They state it's still unclear who owns the firearm.
